The Drakorian Siege

The Golden Tether found itself under siege. Ships came from both sea and air flying the banner of Drakoria, surrounding Guildereim and those that called the islands home. All trade, supplies, and transport was cut off, no one was able to get on the island or leave. They had yet to to disembark from their ships, instead they were simply waiting until the time was right to strike. They had hostages and numbers, as well as a dark magic they wielded at every chance. It wasn't before long they struck the Tether and took full control.

Below is a rough timeline of events that have occurred, based on eye witnesses or rumour.

Monday, February 23th, 2015
  • The Drakorian forces have been driven back!

With the Tether completely cleared out after the Underhall was stormed, Muunokhoi ordered a strike against the weakened blockade. News had been received that Siena was being held in an airship, and with the help of Krise Halloway, Zelzane Balestra, Arisu Kagawa, and Belluve, (and various NPCs) they attacked the line of ships. They managed to breach the blockade and board the ship Siena was on; after a brief skirmish, Siena was rescued.

The final battle took place, with the remaining Drakorian's either killed, captured, or chased off. The Golden Tether has been liberated! Drakorian ships.

  • - Tyrania Sharptooth surrendered herself to the Tether, and was publicly executed by Loraen at the stage.
Friday, February 20th, 2015
  • - Earlier in the morning, a small group (Natasha and NPCs) rescued several patrons and house slaves stuck up in a tree in the far corner of the gardens, clearing out Drakorians along the way.
    - Later in the afternoon, Arisu Kagawa was set to be publicly executed at the bar, though this was stopped by the quick work of a decently sized group of patrons and slaves.
    - The prisoner Mothi was tortured under the hand of Sabaoth by the command of Nilanth. He was interrogated for information on Muunokhoi and the Tether as a whole, and because he did not cooperate he received several major wounds before passing out due to his injuries and returned to his cell on one of the Drakorian ships.
Thursday, February 19th, 2015
  • - The Drakorian control of the Tether is very quickly beginning to slip away. The majority of rebels and Tether supporters stormed the atrium late in the afternoon. A huge battle took place, and the Tether emerged victorious. The main hall is now back in Tether control. The majority of the Tether is still infiltrated with Drakorians, and the underhall seems to be their main staging ground. Although many were escaping, a large number of Drakorians have been captured and imprisoned by the Tether.
-The ballroom was stormed, and Latikara and Mazel were rescued.
-Wuori, Lilyth and Decapiter stated a rescue attempt and recovered Comtesse from a ship.
Wednsday, February 17th, 2015
  • -A large battle took place on the docks. The second in command, Dalfiana was found alone. Confronted, the shaman shape shifted into a massive, fire breathing dragon. The dragon was eventually killed with the help of a number of explosives placed under the docks. The docks were completely destroyed, however the death of Dalfiana revealed that the majority of the Darkorian fleet and blockade was in fact an illusion. It seems only a handful of Drakorian ships now surround the island.
-A small escape attempt took place in the main hall lead by Saqr. The escape mostly failed.
Tuesday, February 16th, 2015
  • -Arisu Kagawa slipped a cage key to Cu Sith in the underhall. The green gladiator lead a rather large escape attempt through the underhall and to the arena. Only a handful were managing to escape, while most were put back in cages.
Sunday, February 15th, 2015
  • - The Wyrmme Commander, Livjatan, returned to the Tether as promised, but she brought back with her a bundle of 'joy'. Latikara was strung up, hung by her wrists with manacles, in the centre of the ballroom where she was questioned before an audience. Those there were given rotten fruit and vegetables to help 'feed' the starving staff member.
The event was interrupted by the arrival of Soreth with Mazel, the former having captured the slave and demanding something being done about the man (Mashenka) who killed his brother. Nyctophile, who was in attendance, accused Soreth of wasting the Commander's time and a small skirmish happened amongst the Drakorians before everyone in the ballroom was ordered to leave. Selkath Bloodtail and Nyctophile were left to punish Latikara and Mazel.

Friday, February 13th, 2015
  • - Livjatan, a Wyrmme Commander, arrived at the Tether with a hostage in tow. They exchanged Natasha for Saqr's loyalty and a portion of his profits from his trade. With loyalty promised, the man was left to continue his life as normal in the Tether. The Commander reminded the room full of patrons and slaves alike that all they needed to do was pledge loyalty to Drakoria, otherwise they may end up like those that have been kidnapped, enslaved, or executed.
-Nyctophile decided to take matters in to his own claws knowing that most of the tether patrons were just paying lip service to Drakoria. He marched into the main hall with a large force of guards. They strung up Snorri and Braedyn on the pillars beside the branding fire. Nycto then demanded that all patrons present take part in torturing the rebels in some way to punish them and prove their loyalty. Cathreyn stepped up and burned Braedyn badly with fire. Biers hit Snorri across the head with his cane and Doc Scalpel stepped up and seemed willing to take his turn. Unfortunately he didn't get a chance. Cami and Laurle stepped up to protest the torture and engaged the Drakorian forces in a fight. They were also joined by Hamil. Laurle was eventually run off and Cami and Hamil captured. There were also some issues that arose within the cages and Necessary Evil reported the fact Lucasta and Sarah Marie were getting free of their restraints so they were dragged down into the under hall to be doubly bound. Braedyn and Snorri were then returned to the cages.
Thursday, February 12th, 2015
  • - Drakorians were informed via spy of the whereabouts of the rebels' camp promptly after relocating. Margranth, Soreth and Dalf used fire to burn the jungle and flush the rebels out with smoke. Battle ensued. One prisoner taken was Snorri; Dalfin interrogated her and procured the name of one of the rebels-- Another prisoner was Sequestered, whom had been tossed back into the cages. pamphlets should soon be distributed or posted with the description of a dragon by the name of Hegan. Surviving/escaped rebels fled to different locations, leaving lost and/or injured stragglers to fend for themselves.
    - The Drakorians maintain a strong hold over Guildereim. Where the Tether took an inch, the invaders took another foot.
Wednesday, February 11th, 2015
  • - Karkadann, Beorne, Mikeayla Renard, Yokan, and Istoph, Loraen, and Jacob Cross engaged in a night-time raid. The raid was on a small Naga encampment, and was successful. After finishing off the naga, the rebels spread Drakorian weapons, bugge body parts, and other 'evidence' around the sight while eliminating all traces of themselves. A fire was started to alert other naga, who arrived to find the clear "Drakorian Attack!" just as the rebels slipped off into the night and returned to base.
Tuesday, February 10th, 2015
  • - Svard Dalfin Anarrus (aka Dalfiana) made his introduction to the Hall by executing a feline 'slave' by the name of Anastazia. Half her skull is now his personal bowl, much to the horror and quieting of unruly slaves. After Breyde tried to interrupt the execution and was forcibly removed by guards and escorted to the Underhall by Soreth, Dalf ordered that all slaves present go hungry for two days, courtesy of Breyde's protest. The execution was also used as an example to those who thought to join the rebellion or protest in any fashion-- and also a message to the jungle-rebels, should they learn of it. Anastazia's body was offered up to the Dark Primes in open tribute.
    - Anastazia's severed arm and a missive was sent via messenger to demand the rebel camps' surrender or that more executions/torture will follow.
    - A winged party lead by Paladia, comprising of many dragons, winged equines and others took to the skies during the dark hours of the evening. Ripping through a small patrol of bugge, and engaging two of the Drakorian airships. It was a fierce battle and many fighters were falling from the skies, but two of the airships were brought down in rains of fire and broken bits of ship into the ocean.
    - Members of The Red Mark group (Colors and Beorne) were able to rescue several patrons being tortured in the underhall.
Sunday, February 8th, 2015
  • - Zelanze Balestra managed to escape from one of the cages. He rallied a good number of captured people to make a break for it. They broke through the guards into the garden with the help of Necessary Evil, who was captured defending the escapees. Zelanze owned an airship called the Faithful, which was waiting outside to pick up the escape party. It was pursued and shot down by Drakorian air forces. A few were captured at this stage. The ship crash landed in the jungle, near the beach.
Saturday, February 7th, 2015
  • - The Tether is overrun and under Drakorian control ! A massive force has washed across the entire Tether, killing and capturing as they went. TGT has fallen. By default, all patrons and slaves are now slaves, and reside within the cages. Those who have sworn allegiance to the Drakorian banner are allowed out. Some slaves are allowed to continue their regular activities, and even some merchants are free to continue with their businesses. Anyone who shows any amount of resistance to the Drakorians however are to be locked up likes slaves in a cage. A number of patrons and slaves have escaped the Tether, and are taking refuge in the jungle in various groups.
Thursday, February 5th, 2015
  • -A number of wrymmes found themselves bold enough to intrude upon the main hall. Several skirmishes had broken out, resulting in a group of wyrmmes making a public display of torturing Lisska in the ballroom.
-Simon the guard was set upon a pyre, and sent off by a group of patrons, slaves and staff late during the night.
Wednesday, February 4th, 2015
  • -Given the perceived lack of action on behalf of the Tether in regards to the recent attacks, the trader, Arisu Kagawa, has posted notices all about the establishment, serving as a rallying call to arms for patrons to join forces and take things into their own hands. With, or without the Tether's permission.
    - Facilitator Valslanth returned to discuss the surrender of the Tether. Muunokhoi refused to surrender the The Golden Tether to them. One of the Drakorian foot soldiers brought along a package, a battered breast plate covered in dark fur and blood seemingly belonging to Latikara, and with a wrapped bundle inside which consisted of a length of Siena's red hair and one of her yellow eyeballs, explaining that they had numerous hostages. The eyeball was crushed under foot and Mashenka attacked the foot soldier, killing him. In response Valslanth had Guard Captain Simon brought out and executed him, an eye for an eye if you will. The entrance to the main hall was blocked by a wall of bugges before it was butchered by the patrons of the Tether. However, the Facilitator managed to escape.
Tuesday, February 3rd, 2015
  • -Facilitator Valslanth arrived on the Tether docks with a small honor guard of wyrmmes and a number of bugge servants and scribes. Demanding to speak with Tether leadership, the Drakorian was soon faced with a large crowd of patrons and slaves. Erimear, Maximillian, and Levinth were the responding staff. Once they arrived, Valslanth offered the Tether 24 hours to unconditionally surrender and while doing so, also planted seeds of resentment and discontent in the patrons, subtly pushing them to lose even more faith in the staff for their handling of things thus far. The Drakorian party then left without further issue.
    - One of the wyrmmes (Marganth) took a casual stroll through the main hall to interact with several patrons. Poisoning one as she left, and kidnapping another who followed.
-Handler Levinth set about organizing the slaves while the siege took place. They were divided into three categories, combat (fighters/gladiators), support (healers) and utility (assorted skills), should there services be needed.
-Muunokhoi, currently the acting Rah, has established numerous restrictions and decrees. (As can be seen above.)
Monday, February 2nd, 2015
  • The siege begins. A half drowned crew member of a boarded ship managed to make his way to the Tether to inform them of the blockade. No explanation was provided and so far no demands have been made. The Golden Tether found itself surrounded and cut off from the outside world by ships both at sea and air, their flags indicated that the intruders hailed from Drakoria.
Sunday, February 1st to Sunday February 2nd, 2015
  • The kidnappings continued. Mothi and Comtesse were kidnapped and alarm and concern ran through the Tether. A warning went out about the kidnappings cautioning patrons and staff alike to be careful.
Saturday, January 31st, 2015
  • Saturday, January 31st, a patron, Natasha, was accosted by a bugge in the garden. Cu Sith, a Tether Gladiator, tried to stop the assault before the bugge turned on him, injuring him, before it jumped off the balcony and cliff with the woman strapped to it's back. This is the only eyewitness account of a kidnapping, but there was rumour that another patron, Laurent, was missing as well as the Rah, Siena, and an Enforcer, Latikara, and a Guard, Simon. However there were no witnesses.
Wednesday, January 28th, 2015
  • A slave cleaning the sewers has very quickly fled the premises, screaming about a number of brutally murdered bugges left to rot in pieces. A small party has been organized to investigate the situation.
Tuesday, January 27, 2015
  • The evening seemed utterly normal. A brilliant sun was setting across the ocean, casting warm shades across it's surface, and washing the beach in an orange glow. A number of charred planks had already washed up into the sands of the beach, though the majority of what did indeed appear to be a shipwreck still remained floating some distance away. A very faint smoke rising from the utter, splintered wreckage.
Saturday, January 24, 2015
  • A bugge disrupted the main hall and harassed various patrons through out the establishment crying out about the end. The doomsayer wasn't specific as to what was going to happen and while most of what he said was gibberish, he exclaimed that the end of nigh and that the threat, while though very real, was hidden.
FAQ
We need more information!
Keep an eye on this thread and the RPR Group as there will be many important updates.

Do I have to take part in this plot?
No, however it is a dream wide plot which means if your character is ICly in TGT, they will have to deal with what is presently going on in the establishment and Guildereim (this means even if your character has an estate somewhere on one of the islands, they will still be affected by this plot.) If you aren't comfortable or are not interested in taking part it is best to say your character is far, far away from TGT and Guildereim.

What can my character do and expect?
Have your character react however it might to a blocked or siege. There is no where they can go and there was no reason as to why the siege was happening. Any assumptions made that your character is in the 'know' or 'apart' of what is going on will be ignored and you may be removed from the dream during the duration of this plot. Any involvement in this plot outside of playing your characters needs approval (and stayed tuned for what we will be doing with that!)

Can I play a Drakorian?
Yes. However you have to follow these guidlines. Anyone abusing this option will find their character removed from the dream.

Resources on playing a character with PTSD.
Check out the post here.

A few OOC facts:
  • -The blockade is still happening. Characters cannot get in or off Guildereim.
-THE JUNGLE IS A HORRIBLE PLACE. Don't assume your character can survive just be running into the jungle, there are deadly animals, plants, and it is incredibly easy to get lost in. Just because your character is a badass tracker doesn't mean they can survive on their own. Trust me, they won't.
-Any patrons seen as acting out or trying to resist the new Drakorian overlords would likely be executed or enslaved unless they leave TGT. If you don't want this to happen to your characters, then your character needs to do what the Drakorian's tell them to do.
-Patrons who 'behave' or go along with the Drakorian rule will more or less be left alone.
-The new 'ruling' party is considerably more strict and heavy handed. All bugges are slaves, furres/anthros are just barely better than the bugges, and all scaled individuals, specifically the Wyrmmes, are on top.

Drakorian Player Guidelines
Please fill out this form and reply in the same thread once you have finished your Drakorian Character.

1.) All TGT rules still apply. OOC consent is key. However, all TGT patrons are now slaves which places them under the slave rules, which can be viewed here: http://www.thegoldentether.com/slaverules.php

Anyone breaking or abusing these rules in terms of consent will lose the right to play a Drakorian and may be asked to leave the dream until the end of the event.

2.) All Furcadian official lore can be found here: http://www.furcadia.com/roleplay/history.html

3.) Simply read through the information guidelines on what makes a Drakorian Wyrmme 'tick' (or slither) below and create your character! Get into contact with a staff member so staff know what wrymmes may be available for certain 'jobs' during the siege.

4.) For those playing normal characters, normal TGT rules apply-- if you aren't in the refugee/rebel camps or haven't sworn allegiance to Drakoria, your character is enslaved. Refer to TGT's Rules for IC Conduct. http://www.thegoldentether.com

5.) You can use the *wyrmme command to use the Wyrmme avatar.

Drakorian Information as per TGT adaptations:
Drakorian Appearances (Build, type, banners/attire): Due to nomad and tribal natures, this is a mish-mash. It leaves plenty of room for creative license. All in their prime of life, fit, attractive and ready to raze and ruin. If it looks good on a scaley bipedal, they probably wear it. Shaman-style attire, regal battle dress for Higher Wyrmmes, that kind of thing.

Hierarchy Order: Wyrmmes (Nobility and under), dragon-kin, Shapeshifters (Wyrmmes or other), Leotuars/were-creatures, furres, and then after that anything from Bugges onward is considered beneath their scaly little boot-heels.

Drakorian History and Culture

* Drakorians are suspicious and intolerant of any magic aside from their own, primitive and shamanistic dark rituals, courtesy of the Dark Primes. Peristane ranks high in their eyes, being the Dark Prime of Slavery. Telcodar and Lokira would also be high on their list. Everyone except Mirmoggin-- they're against cannibalism.
Of special note:

Dyarr/Dyarra

Lord/Lady of Confusion, Dark Prime of Lies
Dyarr is an androgynous lizard in a long cloak that drags on the ground. The Wyrmmes were his favored people, and they were destroyed by lava, earthquakes, and tidal waves, in a disaster brought about by Dark Primes Tallus, Telcodar, and Chatengo.

Information on Dark Primes here:
http://cms.furcadia.com/roleplay/canon/primes#dark
They'd likely refer to them in some way. Execution of those speaking of or employing magic foreign to their own beliefs would be instantaneous. However, (in the understandable event that someone does not want their character killed!) torture and imprisonment is fun for all Wyrmmes and their brethren, so magic-users with their damning identifier collars may be in for a bad day.
* Writing is a rare skill among them and they have their own greatly-respected alphabet and script, of which takes many years to master. Anything else is perceive as useless filth.
* CLEANLINESS IS GODLINESS. They like to be clean. Any kind of warm place or fresh water supply is an ideal place for them to be. They avoid dirty places, sending in others for their grunt work.
* Herbology, potions, poisons, tribal magic are their specialty. They could potentially try some nasty brews on subjects for their own entertainment-- always at someone's miserable expense.

Drakorian Slavery and Battle
*While most Bugge technology is considered beneath them, a fire-resistant tar courtesy of Concentrated Bugge Mucus (no artificial flavors or sweeteners!) is smeared over their ships. Being dragons, fire is their strong point, not their vulnerability, despite using mostly wooden weapons.
*Burn, pillage and raid! Imprison, enslave, complete and utter domination.
They are the coarse, cruel and sadistic-- these are the slavers TGT slaves are warned about. "Be careful; you could be a slave in Drakoria." Goodbye pallets, soft cots, pillows and blankets. One is lucky to have filthy straw. While Drakorians themselves are obsessed about being clean, if a slave isn't to be serving then they're likely somewhere in a cage residing in their own neglected filth. Decent food? Stale bread and water and one would feel lucky to get that. Hardship is upon the enslaved of Guildereim.
*Ruthless. But some may have a sense of humor. Is it good when they laugh? No one really knows.
*All metal weaponry is stolen, either from TGT's merchant ships or from Kasurian and Olde World supplies. Claws, talons and other naturally sharp things are similarly unkind.
*Poison, fire, and blood.

Drakorian Language/Slang:

Some Drakorians don't speak Common, which means a language barrier likely to land the unfortunate in an unfriendly situation. Bugge translators are often brought along to ensure they don't kill someone they might actually want alive.

Languages*:
Croadan (spoken by poor Urban-dwellers)
Low Drakorian
High Drakorian
Smargish (an almost dead language, consider it the old latin of the dragon world)

*These could/can be roleplayed as unintelligle garble to everyone else, translations whispered to fellow Drakorians. It saves confusion by avoiding the common issue of players mistakenly misreading posts.
